I think that the constantly sustained suspense does NOT suit as a level theme, it can get a bit overstated.

I agree with above, plus it is too piercing for long term exposure, I know it has brief dips but then it's straight back in with piercing sounds again. Definitely not my cup of tea.

Actually, the final level of Clear sky is the shortest one (Most of the people as spend less than five minutes between the beginning of the level and the end of the game) and is only focusing on action. That why I think it can be suitable, since it is not a classic Stalker level which would obviously require more diffuse ambient musics. (If you want to see this composition in a stressful and apocalyptic context, I have to recommand you the movie Children of Men, which uses the song in its entirety)

The piercing does not suit stalker, however I like background eiry sound.
Here is an example of that eiry sound in constant action.
I suggest you work around this amazing soundtrack.:)

A "short" version of the Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima. I always thought this composition might as well represent the horror and anguish of the men before the disaster of 1986 and i think this is perfectly suitable to the Chernobyl level.
