So, if you can't run JSRS because it lags your game, i tried to see what would happen if i removed the 500 layers per weapon JSRS has, it doesn't sound the same, but at least its easy on the ears.

My weak-sauce laptop runs JSRS just fine. What are you running this on, a toaster oven?
I don't know what exactly is going on, but my game lags on firefights a lot with jsrs, i play on dx11 mostly.
do you play stalker on hdd by any chance?
Yes i have an old pc with a common hdd.
i guess thats why it lags when you in firefights, because the game lazy loads all required sound files defined in all those sound layers only on the moment of shooting of yours or npc. SSD in this case greatly helps performance
yeah, it seems after the guns shot for the first few times, the games sort of stop lagging so much when all the guns have fired already so maybe you are right.
is your laptop really weak? i don't know where you live but i'm from LATAM, i play anoamaly on a PC that the gouverment give to us when we end the high school wich doesn't agree with you
JSRS, the sound mod?
I cant think of any reason it _could_ lag your game.
Scripts and models/texture mods are the normal cause of FPS drops and lag.
I would take a look at some of the other mods your using and double check there aren't any conflicts and if your pc is crap tier I would remove any and all texture mods then drop the graphics settings on the game down.

How's going? It works? Bc my game also lags a lot on firefights with JSRS installed and i wanted new sounds for the weapons
Try it with a mod manager, if you don't like it, you can always uninstall that way, and it should be compatible with anything that doesn't change weapon_sounds.ltx
Ah, well, so it's not compatible with weapon mods (BaS, Blindside's Weapon Reanimation and Rebalance, etc.) but thanks for your effort anyway.
Yeah i'm not using BAS or Blinsides anims right now, if i want to use those addons then maybe i make a patch, or if some kind soul is interested in making one it would be great.
Finally now i can play JSRS with my Potato laptop till i can get a better PC

No you don't need jsrs because i needed to get rid of lots of files and i changed the file structure.

Interestingly I do have some strange FPS drops too, even with no sound mods, and they seem to be 100% related to the sounds, the rest of the game runs just fine in DX8
Yeah i don't know,maybe its because lack of cpu power, or it grabs the files from slow memory/hdd, etc, or maybe its a sound issue with some driver or config less probably.
I, too, have fps drops when I enter firefights or in random moments... Must be my low graphic memory (i think i have almost 1GB integrated)
There is an addon called "TAZ 2.0 weapons sounds port", it doesn't have the sound layers from JRSR but the guns sure sounds better than vanilla and doesn't stutter at all, maybe you should give it a try.
I tried it, but its too loud, and the sounds were not in my taste much, if there was a way of lowering the volume of guns... its bad for the ears. it can cause tinnitus.
