An RPG wouldn't have the recoil of a rifle (it has backblast instead) but there is some as the projectile's thrust starts pressing against the launcher.
A very light jab of recoil, IMO, would be welcome. As-is, it feels like the RPG is shooting spitwads.

the point is to show the mod in action from a first-person perspective, not from a spawning screen.
also, what things are made for and what they are used for are often two entirely different things. see: post-it adhesive.
