Slugbot is an online 3rd person shooter team based action game where you play as a slug utilizing various vehicle like robots to wreak havoc on the apposing team. Designed to keep team work in mind, players will work with each other in order to set up areas of defense and organized attacks. Vehicles replace your typical class systems. So each vehicle will be balanced in terms of abilities, defense, speed, power, and strength. Slugs will be able to trade out their vehicles for a much more powerful one. However if a slugs vehicle takes too much damage, they will have to escape before it explodes. A slug outside of a vehicle is extremely vulnerable having no way to attack a large vehicle passing by. However if two slugs from opposing teams met each other they will be able to fight/defend in combat style. In addition slugs will also be able to use its environment to their advantage, from hiding in crevices to triggering rock slides.

Speaking of new content. We just added one of our test animations to the video gallery. This animation is very much a rough. We've added more changes to it since, but this will give you an idea of what direction we are heading in. As some of you can tell, our set of vehicles resemble that of a bug like creatures and we wanted them to be animated as such. Each one will have its own very unique method of movement. This will allow the players to learn the controls of each vehicle and find which one will better suit them. Of course each vehicle will have its trade offs, one might move faster but will take on more damage per hit. Similar balancing scenarios apply across the board, but in essence the more players become accommodated to the vehicles movements the more skilled they become. This wont solely win the game however because another factor in our method of balancing is players must work together.

I also wanted to quickly address our work mentality. We have high ambitions, most of the members of the team work for studios, do freelance 3D work on the side, and/or teach game design at the college level. So we look to anyone with constructive criticism to help us improve aspects of this game. We are a professional team of designers looking to start our own studio.
