Huge and hardcore gameplay modification with many magic schools and spells, that offers experience of fights between large squads of masterful opponents with REALLY different magical and martial tactics.
Has incredible potential, but it's not there yet.
It takes place on a brand new map where, in addition to the default factions, there are new magical minor factions. Since they represent different magical schools, they seem interesting at first, but almost all of their interactions are standard Warband lord interactions. It's difficult to get a handle on what's going on around you because the map is absolutely flooded with spawns.
Currently, spells are tied to items. Yes, all of them, as far as I'm aware. Legendary staffs with five spells exist for tens of thousands of gold. You wouldn't think that would be a problem since you'll get random items from lowly bandits that are thousands of gold apiece, but all of the merchants that I saw have the default Warband cash limits, so nobody can afford to buy them from you.
Inventory is absolutely crammed with crafting ingredients that I have no way of finding out what they're for - unforgivable in a game that was already bad on item space.
Some of the spells have godawful sound effects. Equipment textures are extremely bright and out of place. Music is beautiful but it's only a couple of songs, and they don't change for battles.
No menus, references or UI that explain anything, anywhere, ever. If you want to know all the spells a school has and what they do, you'll have to collect all the pieces of equipment that have them. English translation needs a lot of work, adding to the confusion.
I give it a 3 because it's an ambitious project, and I will gladly edit this review for a better score as time goes on. With a LOT of work, time, and love, this mod could make Phantasy Calradia look like dog poo. But not right now, and probably not for awhile.
