The move to Orange Box allowed us to focus on realism in SHIFT and the results are good.

SHIFT is headed in the direction of simulator in terms of realism. Originally we had planned an arcade racing experience because it was all we thought Source could allow at the time but thanks to Orange box, we can now focus on the details. Check out the demo below.
Sounds, car interior, map, and HUD are all WIP and merely used for code testing.

Nice video! I like the lighting from the headlights and stret lamps but the car physics still seem a little weird. The car seemed to still turn like a jeep from HL2. Also I think the car shakes or jostles too much, like the jeep.
Oh my god I cant wait to play this after they going for realism!
Might want to include a ragdoll or playermodel in the driver seat
The premise for this mod is good and the ideas look interesting. At the moment it seems like making a racing game on Source has been way too optimistic though.
Good work and idea.
When it comes down to the finished product, the orange box will make a huge difference, great job.
OH MY GOD. This is AWESOME <3
Man that shifting sounds painful :\
The vehicles need more detail in the interior and some sounds are boring because the repeat like 1000 times...
But the all the other thintgs are really cool

I really hope you can come up with an awesome camera style because HL2's vehicle camera is terrible.
Great video, steering seems a bit "springy" at the moment however.
Excellent progress Im going to really have to get my hl2 re installed
Looks very good. Sounds are iffy, but still good.
Anyway, Korge; I sent you a message that I really need you to reply to. :P
I was skeptical at first at how this project would go, but now I see this is coming quite nicely and I am very tempted to track this(and I don't normally like racing games) add proper car physics, and I'll be sold on this project...
looking forward to its release
the motorsound hurts my ears
The sounds are awfull , i expected more
