If you're having a problem installing the mod, ask here first.

If you have selected anything other than 'Yes' on the poll above, please leave a comment here.

"Did you select the folder where 'swfoc.exe' is located?"
If your answer is anything other than "yes" than that is probably your issue right there.

Cheers,
AUS_Doug.

@EliteSniperz1234

A few questions:
1) Do you play off of a disc or do you have the Steam version of EAW?
2) Is your PC 32-bit or 64-bit?
3) Where are you running the installer from?
(A USB Device, External Hard Drive, The Drive where Windows is installed)
- If it is the latter, are you running from the Desktop, My Documents or somewhere else?

4) Have you tried downloading the installer again?
- You may have a corrupted download.
-How big is the 'SotV_Mod' exe once it has been extracted?
-It should be 207 Megabytes (212,846 Kilobytes)

Why the Sith had sprung their trap so early, Jaina could not imagine.
Maybe Luke had sensed the danger and forced the issue—or maybe he had been their true target all along.
Perhaps they feared Luke Skywalker just that much.
And that was a mistake.
Luke Skywalker was not the Sword of the Jedi.
Jaina was, and now the Sith had trapped themselves inside a locked Temple with her.

I use a disk version of EaW my laptop is 64-bit and im running the installer from my DL location, I do with everything else.
I have done everything that is needed just the installer crashes before any installation progress is made.

Alright, could you try putting the installer on the Desktop, and running it from there?
If that does not work, could you try running the installer as administrator - Right click on it --> click on properties --> go to the Compatability tab and check the box 'Run as Administrator'.

Then try running it again.

I'll ask the people whose software I used to build the installer but, as you are the only one I know of who as had an issue with the installer, it might very well specific to your machine. If this is the case, I'll try and work something out.

Cheers,
AUS_Doug.

I must say too, that I'm having the same issue like EliteSniperz, though I haven't been able to test your solution yet.

As strange as this sounds, that is a good thing - it probably means that this is a fixable issue.
I'll hopefully have some answers for you by tomorrow.

Out of curiosity, is your machine 64-bit as well?
If so, I'm starting to see a pattern emerge......

Yes my laptop is a 64bit why?

Aug 5 2013, 7:21pm Anchor

Sorry, that question was directed at Shadowguard1000.
If his machine is 64-bit like yours, then, as you two are the only people that I know of who have had issues, it becomes likely that it is an issue relating to 64-bit Windows.
Obviously it is hard to say without a larger sample size, but I will look at 64-bit Windows being the issue.

EDIT:
Alright, I've been in touch with Gammadyne's Tech Support and they have been most helpful.

Ask the user what is on the screen at the time of the crash. A screenshot would be nice. It kind of sounds like it is crashing in the "Create restore point" phase, so I would disable this feature. A restore point is probably unnecessary for this kind of installer. Another question I have for him is if the crash dump window is appearing? If so, he needs to click 'Inform Us'. This will send the crash dump to me for further analysis.

Sorry for the late reply, I had technical issues. To your previous question, yes, it's a 64-bit system as well.Thank you for trying to find a solution.
