Really damn good. It's like if 1257AD focused on a single region, and it's bloody great. There is so much detail in everything, from the locations to the mechanics to the weapons and armour. I love the little tidbits of historical info that come with some of the equipment, and just how huge the world feels. There is much troop diversity, hell, you can hire English knights and Byzantine cataphracts :D . Only real issues are a few glitches here and there and the somewhat iffy English translation. Keep up the good work mod authors!

The mod is hard at the beginning. You don't have money for anything. You can't participate in the tournaments at first, because you have to bring your weapons to it. You simply don't stand a chance against those exellent equipped knights. Looting works different, you have to search the battlefield for loot and it takes time. Just like raiding someone's village. Oh and recruting villagers is no more. The mod is different from the others. It's hard but rewarding. It was a great feeling to put my first chainmail on, taking that bearded axe facing the group of sea-raiders. But this time i was the last man standing on the battlefield.

Some detail is good, but some detail could improve.

Its an exceptional mod and one I didnt even know existed till I spotted it in the credits of "Deeds Of Arms and Chivalry". It has incredible attention to detail and historical authenticity, which as a historian I am fascinated in.

Now I dont know a whole lot about the history of the region but it has enticed me to delve into it. The translations to English is impeccable aswell and make it almost hard to tell it was made by Russians. Battles feel great and have a proper heavy weight to them as do the units, and there is also a huge diversity of units for each faction. Im well impressed!

Older than Brytenwalda. Splendid in many ways. A hardcore, distinctive and highly innovative mod conveying the drama of the period.

Good mod. Focuses specifically on Russia in the middle ages. Warning: Difficult. Contains Mongol invasions! Better played in Russian.

PROs:
+ Unique factions with historical names (though I find them incredibly hard to remember and pronoun)
+ Incredible detail on the units, towns and castles, and the world map, etc.
+ Some unique features that I haven't found in other mods.

CONs:
- Minor (non-gamebreaking) bugs.
- Poor English translation.
- Factions colours are too similar making them difficult to tell apart.
- Some companions do not have their stories updated for the mod.
- One instance of a CTD when attempting to finish a task.
- Not quite compatible with Mac/Linux.

One of my top 3 MODs for Warband... too bad that after some time it seems to keep crashing.
