If you strap some wood underneath to avoid burning your hand, yeah, the Sten is a real bastard to hold, so during WW2, much like some American machineguns, some soldiers strapped a bit of wood with wire to hold it in a better way, well, we'll just say that here BJ's hand is protected by the glove...
