===== NEW FEATURES =====
• Play as Marvin Branagh - Experience Marvin's story as seen in Resident Evil Outbreak File #2.
• Dynamic Events - When you revisit places after completing certain tasks, the rooms will begin to change with different events/npc interactions as well as cutscenes playing.
• New Movies - While they have been taken from Resident Evil Outbreak, the movies in this mod have been edited and will play back in new areas which were not features in the original game.
• Start game in different location - You now start the game in the east offices along with fellow survivors.
• Ai Partner - During certain parts of the game you will be joined by a fellow R.P.D officer who will assist you.
• New Story - While this mod is based on the events outlines in Resident Evil Outbreak, it contains many more new and unique story elements which have been added and created to help fill in some of the gaps and provide world building.
• New Ending Requirements - To complete this mod you have to complete certain objectives which will be given to you as you play through the game.
• New Items - In this mod you will collect a handful of new and unique items as you explore and try to escape the Raccoon City Police Station.
• New Routes - Explore the R.P.D following new routes through familiar locations.
• Boss Battles - There are boss battles in this mod in different locations to the original game.
• Changed Some Puzzle Solutions - Changed one or two puzzle solutions. More will be changed in future versions.
• Increased Difficulty - Zombies & Monster will cause more damage when hitting or biting you.
• New 3D Models - There are new 3D models for characters.
• Custom SCD Scripts - This mod features custom SCD scripting to have features such as dynamic rooms, movie playback and much more!
• Custom DLL - This mod also has a custom .DLL which allows the game to be have many custom features and tweaks and this means that the original game.EXE does not need to be hex edited or changed in any way.
• Weapon Damage Changes - The weapons in this mod have had their damage values altered for different monsters. This means that some monsters will be stronger and some will be weaker.

===== INSTALLATION =====
Simply unzip the 'Marvin's Mod v1.2' folder to your desktop or other chosen location and run the 'Marvin's Mod v1.2' .BAT file to play.
========== HINTS & TIPS ==========
• This isn't RE2 - While long-time fans have settled into a routine and play-style for Resident Evil 2, please keep in mind that this mod is radically different from the original game and as such it is advised to not skip passed events or rooms without fully checking everything. Play it as if it was a new game in the series. Not an already existing one!
• Conserve Ammo - If you have a partner with you then let them take care of the monsters by letting them get close. Not every monster needs to be killed. Why not lure some away and run passed them?
• Use Your Eyes - Important items will always glow, so make sure to keep an eye out for this in each camera angle and room!
• Explore Every Room - Be sure to explore every room carefully to find items, messages and files to get the full experience!
• See? Just Relax and Play - Take your time and enjoy the experience. I always try my best to put passion, dedication and polish to my mods no matter how long or small they are so people can enjoy a balanced, bug free experience.

I often times have difficulty figuring out how to play mods that arent sourcenext game so if I drag the files into re2 sourcenext folder it wont work? I know it says standalone but I hope I dont run into issues like I did with irregular mod or any other mod that was standalone as well :) thank you for the mod!

Thank you! You can easily exit by pressing F9 while playing to return to the main menu, then F9 again to quit the game :)

Yeah, she doesn't really need healing as she leaves you after a while and re-appears later.

A bit of an issue I encountered: If you don't read the files you come across, they don't get added to the "Files" tab in the menu. I assume the password for the safe was in a file that I skipped - assuming it wasn't a new file, so the player cannot progress without restarting the game.
They do, you just need to swap to the right folder, also the safe password isn't inside a file so no progress is blocked ever, countless people have finished this mod with no issues.
Hmm I gave it another try. Couldn't progress. After using the Spade key and going to the Main Hall, there's simply nowhere else to go. I assume the safe has either one of the 3 other keys, or the keycard for the computer. Given how in the beginning Marvin says he doesn't know the safe code and so it doesn't let you attempt to input a code. But now it let's me input a code, implying that the player has come across the code, but I have not seen any evidence of this. I ran through every room several times, checked everything, mashed the A button on all surfaces and obstacles, nothing...
I was gonna take a peak inside the 7z to see if there was a password.xml but 7zip says "file is not an archive" yet Rebirth has no problem opening it? Pretty strange. I wonder if the download is corrupted. I tried downloading it twice and same issue.
Edit: watched a video of a full playthrough. The computer apparently tells the player the passcode, but it doesn't do that for me, just asks for the keycard (even though seemingly no doors are locked via the computer) so something must be wrong with the download. Also tried the passcode that I saw in the video and it didn't work. Tried the vanilla passcode for the safe, that doesn't work either. -_-
Edit2: Figured it out. I didn't realize you were using had a patched exe. I was running the normal 1.10 exe. My fault on that one.
There’s a reason I stated this is a stand alone mod and you simply run the .BAT file ;) at least you can continue the mod finally haha. I hope you have fun! :) It was my first time modding RE2 so it was an interesting learning experience making this.

I know this is a dumb question but I figured screw it, I'll ask anyway. Are there any cheats to this?? When I play RE games, I like to beat them normally first, then play again but with cheats lol.

You can enable the debug menu inside config.ini file which will let you change your items and weapons etc while playing. Have fun!
Omg im in love with your mod ! I played 40 min and i can say it's outstanding ! no bug, easy to use, dream come true. Keep going with passion as you do, you makes old gamer like me feeling in heaven and hell, as the first day i played RE. Marvin's story is a great idea btw. Can't wait to play it more :O GG man

Thank you, it was a lot of fun and hard work to make as I'm new to RE2 modding but it's all for old school fans to have a little fun and experience something new.
I really want to play this, but having lots of issues out of the gate. Seems like the menu screen is missing half the options (I can move the cursor and select invisible options, like what I am assuming "New Game" falls under). I also can't seem to use my wireless PS4 controller, as I just keep spinning, like my left button is being held down at all times. It also crashed when I tried aiming and pressing the cancel button at the same time.

It's missing half the options because you're not supposed to select them as other game modes and files are not included with this mod. That's kinda the point of them being removed from the selection graphics. As for using a wireless ps4 controller I can't really comment. It's a game from 1998. Try changing the input on the config screen that comes up from direct input to something else. The controller issues have nothing to do with the mod itself and are purely RE2 game engine related.
I do know that others have used wired ps4 controllers and Xbox One controllers without an issue. Sadly I can't exactly be held responsible for a game from 1998 not accepting modern controller input methods, it's like complaining that a PS1 console won't play PS4 games.
I tried an older wired xbox controller, and it is working great! I'm loving it so far.
I had a xbox controller and faced with the same problem. Solved by replace ddraw.dll and config.ini from another biohazard 2 game folder which are the last versions

I really enjoyed this mod. You did an amazing job. Thank you. This is the only mod I have been able to play because it does not require the sourcenext version which I can not find anywhere searching google.
This mod does actually use the sourcenext, it's been compiled to run as a stand-alone however to be more user friendly!

It could have been longer but I didn't want to drag it out for too long. It also wouldn't make sense for Marvin to go into the sewer areas or labs you know? I think quality over quantity! :)
Hey Aydan love the cteativity and passion behind the mod but anytime i put the mod into full screen theres no audio for some reason, and the barrys mod won't run either when i try to launch it.
That's REALLY strange. I've never had anyone else report such an issue... I can only assume it's related to your drivers or something? o_O I do apologise for not being much more help, but you're literally the only person out of thousands.

i am also facing the same issue of PS4 controller not working well as the direction button LEFT is perma pressed.
i have to remove it and play using the keyboard. but it just does not feel right.
