Reign of Bullets is a mod that aims to turn Doom into a challenging FPS bullet hell experience. The player and all enemies now fire projectiles, these projectiles have varying effects depending on the enemy, some projectiles penetrate players and after a few bounces explode, others split into multiple projectiles. Some projectiles bounce, most bouncing projectiles bounce 5 times but some can bounce as many as 30 times, and as few as 1 time. This mod will not be a walk in the park so only download it if you are looking for a fresh and exciting challenge. This is Alpha 6 of the mod, expect updates in the future adding multiple new features, weapons, enemies, and a map pack with 32 new maps made specially for this mod. This mod is also compatible with most map packs, so use it with any map pack you like. If you encounter a glitch on a map post what happened in the forums. This mod does not work with maps or mods that have custom enemies or weapons. I will have to make patches targeting specific maps to fix this issue. If you would like me to patch a map pack, post it down in the comments and I will add a patch for it in the addons section. This mod is in its sixth alpha version, so expect the final product to differ greatly from the current version. This mod works best in GZdoom.

Features


  • All enemies and weapons shoot projectiles
  • A leveling system - It takes 1000 XP to level up, leveling up fully heals the player and awards 5 upgrade points (UP) which can be spent on upgrades.
  • 10 new player classes
  • 6 Bulletstorm bosses. Bulletstorm bosses are immobile, shoot powerful projectiles, have alot of HP, no pain chance, and shoot ALOT of projectiles
  • 3 Commander bosses. Commander bosses spawn weak minions to do their bidding. Sometimes they spawn elite minions which have high HP and damage and can spawn minions for themself.
  • Splitter enemies. Some enemies split into multiple enemies upon death.
  • Splitter projectiles. Some projectiles split into multiple projectiles upon hitting something.
  • All Classes have class weapons and all class weapons have unlimited ammo.
  • Healing items now heal double the amount they used to.
  • 3 legendary weapons. These weapons are dropped either by the boss that wields them or by a legendary rewarder. The chance that they will drop is extremely small.
  • 4 rewarder demons. These are multi-coloured pinky demons that move extremely fast, run away from you, drop good items if killed, can spawn in place of ANY enemy, and can not attack you.
  • Dodge. Press Q (Can be rebound) to dodge all incoming projectiles, move at double speed, and be invulnerable for as long as dodge is active. Dodge has a 1 second cooldown.
  • Deflect. Press R to deflect projectiles that hit you back at whoever shot them, damaging, or killing the enemy.
  • Many variations of common enemies to spice up the roster.
  • Randomization. No run will be the same with the random spawning system causing all enemies to randomly spawn every level. One run it could be a zombieman, the next it could be a miniboss.
  • Berserker enemies. They have 1 hp, can spawn as minions to commander bosses, and insta-kill all classes.

Good news guys, after hours of trial and error I have finally found what needs to be done to make enemies level with the player, it took tons of research just to realize I spent all that time because I forgot to add another equal sign. I felt stupid but at the same time elated with the discovery. Currently coding in the level 2 enemies, this update is going to be huge guys. Not all levels will have their own enemy type, some levels will be skipped, the current plan is.

  • Level 1 enemies

  • Level 5 enemies
  • Level 10 enemies
  • Enemies levels increasing by 5's with the players.
