Are these Austrian troops? Very nice regardless.

Yes,these are Austrian Fusiliers indeed. Late 18th century, representing the uniforms used during the French Revolutionary Wars and Napoleon's First Italian Campaign in particular.

I felt that Austrians could use some attention for the late period, and made these. Later, when the French units are created, I'll probably make a complete pack to reenact battles of the period.

Just thought if two questions I wanted to ask.

First, are you planning on adding in officer models for specific units such as the German mercenary units? I have no complaints understand, the units themselves look fantastic, but it looks a touch odd to have Hessian grenadiers led by a redcoat clad British officer. The von Bose Regiment in particularly had some fancy dress chaps for officers. I'd be glad to provide references if it would help.

Second, I know you said you were planning on adding French republican units for the fighting against Austria but will French royalist forces also make an appearance such as those that would have fought on the American side of the Revolutionary War? If so will they be two different factions or what?

Thanks. Love the mod.

Thanks for the questions! Covering these points previously slipped my mind :P

I am definitely adding German officers and drummers in the future. I might make some generic variants first, just like with the British, but I will gradually replace those with regiment specific ones. I have more material on the British uniforms, so please share any good references on Hessians/Brunswickers.

I should have made it more clear, but my priority is AR period regiments, so the first French in RoAR will be royalists. Once they are complete, I will make a French republican variant using same uniforms to put against the Austrians. But that would be closer to alternate history.

By the way, I am making proper uniform models for Germans and French. And with all the rigging and testing the models it takes quite a bit of time. Hence the delay in the unit department :)

That's all well and fine. Rather you take your time and do it right as opposed to rush. Looking forward to what else young bring us in the future. As to uniform references I'm not sure what resources you're using but there's a graphic design artist who was with the Smithsonian named Tim Reese who has a series of uniform, equipment, and flag plates called "Art of Wars" you could look at. It costs money I'm afraid though. Here's an example: Reeseartofwars.com

I actually have plates from the same artist, but those cover British and Continentals. I also keep track of reenactor groups portraying Hessian units. When the time comes, I'll see what they have available.

Description

It's been a while since the last update and I have some news for you.

In addition to my RL obligations, I've been learning 3dsmax and substance painter, which allowed me to create a few helmet for a Divide et Impera submod for Rome 2.

Other than that I've been trying to decide whether to create a new French coat model from scratch or modify the existing one. Tried both but the first option may make me want to replace all the models in the mod, translating into endless reworking, NOT moving forward.

Finally, here is what I made for fun...
