Hey man, been wanting to ask this for some time, does this mod follows the aesthetic of the movies, the anime, or the manga? (or all at the same time?)

Asking because I've been trying to compile some items to arm the Tudor/Midland soldiers, and I realized that I was taking only their movie appearance (which seems fair, they look beautiful in there), and not even looking at the anime/manga stuff.

Currently the armor aesthetics come from the original 2009 mod release so it's not great, mostly just stuff that existed in the community around that time.

I've collected a ton of reference material from manga panels, the animes, the games, the movies and real-world examples from the 14th and 15th centuries. Here's a list of links you might find useful.

Honestly they're pretty consistent throughout, with most of the differences coming from the reality of adapting something to a different medium and updating older parts of a work that has consistently evolved over time. The manga is the best source and is typically the most detailed and varied across characters, blending dark fantasy and reality really well. The movies are pretty true to the manga with great designs on the main cast, but having really limited variety for the side characters, losing a great deal of the dark fantasy and leaning into more strict historical references. The '97 anime put a little more love into diversifying the background characters, not quite to the degree the manga does obviously and they have to simplify the designs a great deal to make it realistic to animate by hand.

Ideally I want to be able to recapture the magic blend of historical accuracy and dark fantasy that Miura perfected to give it an aesthetic difference from all the other Hundred Year War era mods for Warband.

Description

I've announced it on the discord, but I have been plugging away at a typical RPG-style perk tree! You unlock trees by meeting and befriending characters during your journeys, allowing you to purchase and upgrade skills that will increase your survivability.

Mostly passive boosts and buffs / debuffs, but there are a number of "Active Skills".

In this GIF we see Guts using his artificial arm's built-in cannon to shoot an approaching enemy after cleaving through his allies.

Instead of having to swap to a different weapon and leaving you without your trusty Dragonslayer at the ready, you will be able to set four slots for active skills. Allowing you to use things like taunts, battlecries, and most importantly, an arsenal worth of weapons to quickly use to dispatch your foes.

Credit, as usual, to Counter-Guardian-Aro for the meaty animation.
