Official RBDOOM-3-BFG source port releases with additional tools and assets like precomputed global illumination data and the customized TrenchBroom level editor.

Description

This update is huge and replaces OpenGL with DX12 and Vulkan using Nvidia's NVRHI API and adds support for glTF 2 models and animations. So over 600 commits later and probably over 1200 hours provided by 4 programmers RBDOOM-3-BFG 1.5.0 is final after one year of development. You can just extract the files over the 1.3.0 release.

It's made for the Doom 3 BFG edition on Steam and GOG but it also works with Doom 3 (2019) version from the Microsoft Store.

I crash to desktop on trying to manually save tho. Any advice ?

I copied this over my install of D3 Hi-Def.

Yeah we have some unresolved crash reports with Hi-Def.

The safest installation of this mod is:
1. Make a new DoomBFG folder
2. Copy base/ from your Steam Doom 3 BFG folder into DoomBFG
3. Download the RBDOOM-3-BFG 1.3.0 full package and extract it over DoomBFG.
4. Do the same with the 1.5.0 patch.

Then run any mod based on this in a dedicated mod_* directory like the samples I provided.

Thank you so much for all your effort. The performance increase is incredible, I have stable 144fps now on 6750xt at 2560x1440, previously fps would sink in some areas.

Also, I really like the addition of TAA. Looks incredible.

Yeah nice! It also works surprisingly well on my Legion 5 AMD laptop with a RX 6000. It is as fast as my Geforce 2070 Super in 1080p.

Thanks for the great mod! But since v1.5 it crashes with "Can't initialize OpenGL" and I'm slowly running out of ideas. I have an Optimus based laptop with Intel HD 620 and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX which both should support OpenGL and DX12. I'm wondering why OpenGL should be initialized at all. What can I do?
