Republic Assault is a full scale conversion mod for the Petroglyphy game Star Wars Forces of Corruption. Using elements from both the current canon, and existing EU to create the best possible game experience.
So the topic of adding Senators to the mod had been one I've been against, but today I found the Diplomacy system developed by SmallPox here Thrawnsrevenge.com (Or Pox as he goes by on ICW forums).
I have tried to make an account on ICW forums in order to contact him about this, but for some reason it won't accept "Beesden" as the theme creator. Now if there's enough support from everyone for a system like this I'll do my best to make contact with him through other means.
EDIT: Man I can't seem to type right late at night.
Yesssssssssss do this
Especially with the sector thing cause then I ( I'm not sure if anyone is as OCD as me) can assign Fleets and Armies to each sector with the respective senators (peaceful talks first blaster fire later)
Yes, this is a unique idea and I am all for it. Unlike the GCW the Clone Wars did involve some diplomacy. Still a bit confused on how this'll work but sounds great
I've managed to figure out why I couldn't post (Guess Beesden had to be backwards), so if I get the heads up, this should make the mod stand out from other TCW mods.
As for the functionality of this, it sounds like the addon adds a new unit called a diplomat (Will be renamed for mod purposes) which can be used to lower planetary influence with the enemy, or keep a fleet in orbit of an enemy planet. Should this influence reach 0, the planet will become neutral/yours. To build influence you need to keep a planet overtime, and influence will build. It also seems that you need to have X amount of planets in a sector to use diplomats.
Nice idea !
You could make it possible for players to disable it.
Sometimes you just wanna fight sometimes you want a more challenging GC :)
I'm not entirely sure that's possible without completely removing SmallPox's work.
