Republic Assault is a full scale conversion mod for the Petroglyphy game Star Wars Forces of Corruption. Using elements from both the current canon, and existing EU to create the best possible game experience.
Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've done one of these. With my recent gain of Substance Painter, and 3ds Max 9 not to long ago, I was able to create things a lot faster.
But that can only last for so long, and my skills only expand so far. I've got things like 3d art, riggers, xml, and the such all taken care of. However, I need help with these things:
•Map creation: I have some ability to create maps, but GC has over 100 planned planets. I'd rather have people looking at nice maps, rather than garbage ones for any extended period of time.
•Lua scripter: As I progress, I find myself pushing the limits of XML. I already have several projects I needed to shelf, as I'm not quite sure how to work with Lua.
•AI developer: AI in vanilla FoC is, quite frankly, garbage. I've toyed around with the AI to make it somewhat harder, but I'm not looking for harder. I want something that feels like it's human and a challenge, not some stupid spamming AI that has ships with overcharged weapons and shields.
•Particle creator: Plain and simple, I'm garbage with the particle editor. I've at least been able to make some things work in the map and lua department, but not the particle editor.
I sincerely hope anybody can lend a hand to help me develop this thing faster. Thanks everyone for reading this.

Wish i could help. I only know very basic xml. But I do know a guy who knows. Also could you make a small map for quick playthroughs.
Well, as it stands right now, I can't exactly make any maps. We'll see if I can get a mapper.
I meant as in GCs but if you meant the same then maybe you could consult some of the republic at war team or thrawns revenge.

What kind of changes would you implement if you found soemone that could edit the Lua scripts?
Well, I don't exactly want to get spoilery, but some are game changes, other will cause certain sounds to trigger.
i know how to fiddle with the xml to change prices, build times, squad sizes, and such, but im no coder. i wish you luck in enlisting someone capable of doing so.
I might be able to help you do some things in LUA, but I'll need to know what you actually want. Some things, as I'm sure you are aware of; just aren't possible without experts, which I am not, I am a bit above average.

Nothing against the Clone Wars TV show, but I really prefer the movie version of the Phase 1 helmet. It looks sleeker and more heroic. The show makes it look like they have fat cheeks. Really awesome update though. Love the Mandolorian models!
