Republic Assault is a full scale conversion mod for the Petroglyphy game Star Wars Forces of Corruption. Using elements from both the current canon, and existing EU to create the best possible game experience.
Finally got around to finishing a nice Arquitens for the Republic. Another iconic ship in the Republic navy down, plenty more to go.
The Arquitens-class is armed with 4 quad turbolasers that pack a serious punch, 4 anti aircraft guns, and 2 alternating concussion missile tubes. The ship itself has weak armor, so it can't withstand much, but it can also divert power from it's main battery to it's shields.

You're looking at the ship rendered in Iray.
Very beautiful.
I swear you make some of the greatest models for this game!
Thanks, but I just gave it a bit of a facelift. Arvis, and Elratie did most of the work.
That thing looks glorious. It's my favorite ship in Star Wars, tying with the Imperial Interdictor in Star Wars Rebels.
So would an Arquitens be an effective anti-fighter/bomber ship, or do you have another unit planned for that? Some mods seem to favor corvettes or the Consular-class cruiser for that role. Your ship has concussion missile tubes, and AA guns, which seems like it might be useful for anti-fighter/bomber.
If both you and Barlex want my opinion, perhaps it could be an upgrade to the Consular cruiser. It's larger, has a bit more armor, and it has more powerful weaponry; simply just make it a higher-tier upgrade and make it cost a little more than whatever the basic anti-fighter/anti-bomber craft is.
The Arquitens, and Consular-class are both effective anti-fighter ships.
While they do overlap in roles, you'll have to pick which you want. Unlike vanilla where all space ships are build from one starbase, you'll need to build shipyards.
Shipyards will come in 3 levels, and can build better and more expensive ships as levels progress. IE:
•Level 1 - Corvettes, and light frigates (Consular, Carrack, and so on)
•Level 2 - Medium frigates (Arquitens, Acclamator)
•Level 3 - Heavy frigates, and capital ships (Dreadnaught-heavy cruiser, Venator)
I'm also toying with the idea of creating unit upgrades. So you could take a Consular, and repurpose it into an Arquitens.
