Hey there, recently I came up with this idea but it's effectiveness depens on possible AI scripting. I saw your space station project and it looks gorgeous so I came up with an idea of dividing stations into two groups. First should be something resembling shipyard, something big with low fighting capabilities but capable of building ships. The second one should be defensive, with big guns and hard to destroy but unable to construct any ships. I came up with this idea cause I thought it would be nice way of improving strategy. The only thing is if AI would be "considering" that in attacking more important systems and leaving less important ones. What do you think about it?

I have actually had that idea myself. I'm skeptical at doing such a thing, as I have no idea if the AI will respond well. Or the game.

That is the biggest concern about it, cause other aspects are fairly easy I guess.

Thrawn's Revenge has done something similar with worlds that can have capital shipyards, perhaps they can offer some advice. The capital shipyards have limited to no defensive capabilities, and are distinct from the actual space station. The space itself has no weapons, only upgrades and a hanger for fighters and bombers. They created Golan space platforms for defense, but Golans wouldn't fit with this mod, as we have seen Republic/Empire and CIS space stations.

I imagine that they used space buildings rather than actual star bases. Although, I haven't actually looked at their mod much.

The Golan could fit though, as the Republic used the Golan I to defend outposts, and shipyards.
