Quake Combat+ is a refinement & continuation of Quake, SMC & Quake 1.5, built on Darkplaces, aiming to provide the ultimate Quake singleplayer combat experience and perfect the existing works without straying far from the original design/balance to retain compatibility with the many great custom-made user maps out there.
You've not fought a Quake horde like this before. Reivers can dynamically wall phase whenever they are alerted to you and you're out of sight. The bane of campers and bottleneck abusers, it's hard to tell exactly where they will pop out. This creates highly diverse gameplay and in addition to their randomized spawns, no map plays exactly the same twice!
For testing purposes in this video, reivers are spawned in E1M1/2 at high frequency.
Will there be an option to disable these enemies like in regular Quake 1.5?
In case they're an annoyance or not fun to fight.
Don't get me wrong I'm all for new content for any video game, as long as said new content doesn't break the balance.
Technically, you can disable them. But then you will be missing one of the best things about this mod, they're such an awesome enemy. Do they break the balance? For the faint of heart or low-skilled, possibly. This mod makes any map slightly harder, which can get intense with custom maps designed to be very hard. It has been tested with hundreds.
