"…near, …far, …wherever you are…"
Just like her sister ships R.M.S. Olympic and H.M.H.S. Britannic, the R.M.S. Titanic was a huge, beautiful and elegant ship. There have been some games and game modifications that tried to provide "the ultimate Titanic experience", but they never felt right. Now that Crysis is out and we think it came with a great engine, we thought of creating the ultimate experience.
The ship itself will have awesome details without dropping the performance of the game. We want to be as historical correct as possible. Over the past weeks, we collected loads of reference images, some very rare movies and, of course, James Cameron's Titanic from 1997 will be one of our main inspiration sources.
The modification itself will provide an interactive explore game mode where you can explore the ship, get information about many little details, events and interesting stuff, such as passenger lists, freight or statistics. We are also planning to include interactive NPC characters that will tell their own story.
Now a few infos for the mod release schedule:
0.1 will come with the hull and the upper decks, including access to the wireless-room, gymnasium, crow's nest and, of course, the bridge! With every following release (0.2, 0.3, ...) we are planning to put a new deck into the Titanic with more rooms to explore, bugfixes and new functions will be implemented aswell. The goal is to have an as much as possible walkable Titanic.
Just for the curious: This isn't a mod dedicated to the movie, so there will be no Jack or Rose.

New Forum
We have now a small forum on CryEdit.net where you can discuss abour our mod. Much thanks goes to SUSELinux, for the offer and the creating of the forums!
Piano
Our team member wolfi, who is in the progress to learn modeling in XSI, has created one of the music instruments of the Titanic, a Piano. This was used at the Sundays mess to play along the songs. Ironically they sang the songs For Those in Peril on the Sea on the day the Titanic strucks the iceberg, referring to the Titanic survivor Lawrence Beesley (2nd Class).
Binnacle
This is one of the binnacles which were used on the Titanic, essential for navigation on the sea.
Compass Platform
There was a compass platform too, which allowed a more precisely navigation, because there was no magnetic metal 3.5 meter around the platform. It is between the 2nd and 3rd funnel.
Deckbench
There were some of these deck benches to relax after a walk, mainly on the boat deck and the 3rd class promenade.
Lamps
Because you don't have seen them good in the last updates, here are some detail screenshots of the lamps created so far.
Explorer Mode
Last but not least a little proof of concept of the explorer mode. It is a very early and first concept which will change in the future. It is planned to get interest information that will be displayed on the HUD or at a portable device, which you can see in the screenshots.

I like this mod But i have a feeling this mod has had a heart attack. we'll have to see if it is dead or not.

despite the fact that it isn't based on the movie, it would be quite interesting if it still included rose & jack but not as the centre of attention, ie you may find them walking around, standing on the edge of the stern at a certain time, etc.
