SFR (WIP title) is a mod for the Source Engine. It's based on the 3d shooter game Starfox. It will be mostly based on the 1993 nintendo power comics, and a story(running in parallel to the events in the comics ) written for the mod. The game is mostly a shooter like the first game, but will feature some 3rd person on-foot action. The main focus is singleplayer, however multiplayer will definitely be implemented in time.

Hello again, here's a quick update. There has been a short hiatus in development because some had their final exams, and all.

We were able to recruit a new manager and potentially a new writer.

If all goes well, we should add a new video of our "test sandbox" level based on corneria snes to fool proof our new level building technique, later this month.

Also fixed tons of bugs with the arwing, and added "placeholder" blasters and trying them out on metropolice :)

Also, later this month or next month we'll probably switch to the Alien Swarm Build of the engine, so anybody can play without owning HL2:EP2. But we're still investigating some features of the ASW SDK.

*EDIT*: For those worrying, this change of engine build will not change anything to our plans, and it won't end up anything like Alien Swarm.

The Alien Swarm Engine is just the Source 2011 Engine, or Portal 2 Engine.

The only reason Alien Swarm is Top-Down is because that is how the game itself was designed.

Now please relax, or we will ALL be in trouble.

AmaroqDricaldari is right, even the base player code from hl2 is still in Alien Swarm.

Besides, we're going for a third person/over the shoulder kind of camera when controlling a character somewhat like Mass Effect, and Metal Gear, with probably first person precision aiming like MGS 2-3. It may change, but that's the original plan.
