Our new coder Sven has made an excellent start on the team and has knocked up a video to demonstrate the HeatVision. We believe it's a PC game first, our gun's barrels heat up as they are fired. We also plan to have body heat dissipate. Note that the HUD is a place holder and not the real

Docm30: he said "We also plan to have body heat dissipate"
also, he didnt say heat vision was a first, hes saying that guns heating up might be a first
im loving the way the weapon moves on the screen before your view point moves, creates a much more realistic 1st person perspective
and that HUD is prety nice, maybe you should keep it
I'm one of the moderators from the forum, just to comment on the "PC Game First" quote. I think there's a little misunderstanding, they believe its a PC game first that the guns barrels heat up, at least thats what I'm thinking here.
Also the body losing heat so quickly is hopefully going to be sorted, it was just a quick job for the demonstration. As if you visit the dev blogs Talon does say it was a 10 minute job.
Im liking it! It would be cool if the bullet decals would flash with red heat briefly too, and shell casings to glow red on the floor for a small amount of time!
Very cool! Though I don't think the barrel would cool off that quickly...oh and one thing I don't think was suggested is that the muzzle flash should also be red.
looks good ;D
not a pc game first, SoF2 had similar heat vision - still very good.
About this vision - I think that people don't loose their heat right after they die, but I am not sure.
No, Men don't lose heat right after death, maybe you ought to change that.
Didn't Aliens vs. Predator (1 & 2) have heat vision?

Yeah, it's like the floating crosshair in Operation Flashpoint. Great game, great system.
The 'loose aim' system is also used in another mod for Half-Life:
But yeah, I'm really liking the loose aim and heat vision. If I can think of any suggestions I'll be sure to post em on the forums ;)
P.S. Please don't shoot me for the pun :P

Anyway, nice work!
I really like the heat vision! The fact that you managed to get the guns to ?heat up? is really awesome!
Thumbs up!
Gun barrel heating up looks real nice, looking forward to seeing it in action at some time in the future.
