xPatch is a fan-made patch for POSTAL 2 Complete and Paradise Lost DLC
It's made for Steam and GOG version of the game (build 5024 and 5025). Supports only Windows OS.
improvements, including rebalanced weapons and QOL features, improved animations, effects and textures.
Most of the gameplay and visual changes can be toggled in the xPatch Options menu in-game.

Q: Will I still be able to unlock achievements after installing it?
A: Yes! xPatch is a mod constructed just like an official patch would be. It's not a workshop game mode nor modifier, therefore by itself it doesn't affect achievements.
Q: Can xPatch be used with other mods?
A: Yes, it's compatible with 90% of the mods I tested it with.
Q: Why only Windows is supported?
A: xPatch is based on POSTAL 2 v5025. Native Linux build is outdated (v5023) therefore it's incompatible. Go complain to RWS for this not to me. You can force proton compatibility mode for the patch to work though.
Q: Can you add X content form X mod into xPatch?
A: No, it's a patch not a modpack.
Q: How can I uninstall xPatch?
A: Just google how to verify game files on Steam, jeez.
Q: I suck and can't play without Sawn-Off Shotgun being ridiculously broken and overpowered. Is there a way to restore it to the way it was?

HELLo, Man Chrzan aka Pan Szatan here. I'm here to inform you that you can download, play and help by testing the newest version of xPatch (2.9.1) before it will get polished up and offcialy released as 3.0 so keep in mind that it's work is still in progress and subject to change.
It's currently available to anyone on xPatch Dicord Server. I'd appreciate leaving feedback on the new version and reporting any bugs found, on said discord server - that's why it will be available only there while in pre-release testing stage. The final release will of course be uploaded to ModDB and Workshop too.
Also it seems like xPatch is Goin' Official on POSTAL 2's 20th Anniversary (April 13th).
I'm a bit excited not gonna lie, there will be some little cuts compared to the unoffcial patch yes
but the offcial one will bring a few new little things not present in the first one ;D

It's not abandoned but I have some health problems which make finiding time and energy to finish up the new version really hard.

Hi. I installed this great mod back in december last year and had no problems as far as I remember. I'm trying to do a fresh install now having downloaded both postal 2 and paradise lost off gog but i cant get the bloody thing to run. I'm using the installer POSTAL 2 xPatch_2.0_Setup_v3 and it creates a folder called PostalComplete but there is no exe in there and when i run the game its the vanilla version. I then copied over all of the files from Postal2COMPLETE and the game wont run. The blue circle just spins. As I said Im sure I had no issues before. If I can have some instruction please I would be grateful
xPatch 2.0 won't run on version 5100 because its made for version 5025 and has older default configuration file which apparently makes the game stuck in an infinite loop trying to update to the new configs. You don't need to install it anyways as for the 20th P2 anniversary xPatch was officially implemented into the game. If you still want to use older version of the patch either dowgrade the game or go into the System files, find Default.ini and change ConfigVer value to 5100, it will make the game run as long as there won't be anny errors with xPacth 2.0 and 5100 version of the game.
