When Aperture Science sells off the Database Division of its company to make it a standalone entity, managers of Database use their last moments of power at Aperture to plan a sabotage of the GLaDOS project, which, although unfinished, has significant control over the rest of Aperture's extensive amounts of technology. Several critical files related to morality are to be deleted, causing the AI to become insane. GLaDOS is fully aware of what is about to happen, and before it does, she befriends the test subject currently on the course, informing them of the situation and asking for help. A single backup of the missing files remains - she is aware of this as it resides in the same room as herself. The subject must recover files from these backups to restore normality to Aperture, but it will not be easy...

Hello - I'm this mod's current leader, usbpetrock. I've technically been in charge of this project for over a year, and have been contributing since 2012 - how time flies. However, despite being the "project leader", I haven't been able to post updates, thanks to a permissions issue. I sort of forgot about the project for a while, and moved on to a GoldSource modding team known as Half-Life Infinity - but while I was working out a permissions error there, I figured out what could be done back here at IronSword. I contacted loudonlune, who was able to fix the problem, so... now I have control of Portal: Insane Aperture once more.

40 watchers is a healthy fan base, and I'm not going to be abandoning this mod. I have a list of test chambers written down with one in progress. Don't worry, this mod will (probably) see the light of day!

I'm Leaving (but might come back)

I could help with mapping and textures, not texture artistry, but I can port textures and edit textures. Also I know how to add extra skins to models.

I can help with mapping. I am a bit inexperienced, and have never worked on a project like this, but I tend to learn fast. I have some restrictions as to when I can map, as I have limited time on the computer(Usually at least a few hours a day) and school, but I can try very hard to help.
I know I sound like the last person you should hire, and maybe I am. But if you want me to try, just email me at mnkyband@gmail.com.

Kinda like the idea of a stripped back 'empty' aperture as if something has happened and using the idea of minimalism. Obviously this needs to have enough interest to keep it going but its an interesting concept.
