You are James, the very first test subject for the Interdimensional Travel Device (ITD). After successfully crossing to Earth 613, the ITD collapses, and you become stranded deep in old Aperture. If it could not get any worse, Aperture Science is coming down above you for unknown reasons. James quickly finds out that he's not the only one that happens to be in danger. An abandoned project inside Test Shaft 10 that was designed for the Cold War is threatening to destroy not just Aperture, but half of the United States. Through clues, you will find out what happened in this universe, where everyone went, and try to stay alive long enough to go back home.
