Was Nightmare House 2 bad then?
Never played it. If it's about zombies then I don't want to either. Zombies aren't scary, ever.
What's scary in your opinion then? I could improve my horror mod skills with your knoweledge.
Good sound design is key. Also, lighting...but most of all, ATMOSPHERE. Why do you think Amnesia makes people crap their pants? It's not the way the monsters look (though they're pretty creepy I'll grant you), its the mind-numbing, bone-chilling DREAD that you just KNOW something's going to jump out on you and savage you to death with razor claws. Lovecraft knew how to use dread. It's not about gore, it's about SUSPENSE.
