Excellent environnments. Atmospheric and nostalgic.
Wow, the tooltips were pretty annoying.
Great prop placement. Loved seeing that absolutely roasted dude just flopped over the window sill, staring deep into my soul. Makes for some immersive world-building.
Cool sandblaster texture. I have the exact same one.
Wacky, imbalanced difficulty spikes. Loved the fast zombie intro, hated the follow-up fight. Just swarms upon swarms of them, and you're armed with nothing but a pistol and crowbar. Not fun.
Brilliant level design cues. Feels very Valve-esque in the way introductions of new environments lead the player's POV to create vast, intimidating environments.
Long bouts of ominous exploration and me-time. Channeling that innate Half-Life horror atmosphere. OUTSKIRTS is certainly a fitting name. While it's well-designed, the pacing is a bit heavy on the walking simulator. All around a highly enjoyable experience, though.
the aesthetic/atmosphere is heavily based on early iterations of Half-Life 2, this mod makes good use of that
I think even at it's current state that this mod deserves a 10.
I have playtested this mod from early builds to current builds and this man has made a tremendous leap in quality.
He works almost everyday to improve It, and is always coming up with new and intriguing ideas.
If you ever get the chance, PLAY IT!!!
Good mod, it kinda reminds me of return to ravenholm in a way.
