When I first started the mod, my favourite idea was to make some sort of ranking systems for the Combine. I always felt there was something missing about squads of troops, no leader only normal and elites. So this mod aims to provide a new squad based group where various types of unit's performed different tasks. For example, if the leader was killed, the standard troops will scatter fighting in a messy way.
Here's one type of unit I have been working on. This special unit, is a high rank of soldiers who come into play when a squad is in the battlefield and is failing to push back the rebels. Nicknamed 'Morale Brutes' these troopers are strong and brutal who try to outflank oppositions and push the rebels back to gain back morale for the squads, influencing them to fight to the death and make sure their mission is complete.
Their armour consists of Grey/Tan coloured suits, with heavy padding (used by the elites) covering their arms and legs. Distinguishable by their white helmet and red goggles.
Omg n1!
I always thought the same about the way to simple combine troops structures in hL2. Good work.
Thankyou sir!
Nice, more variety in enemies! That's a good idea.
Though, to be honest, I don't think the Combine soldiers need morale boost, they already have superiority in firepower, technology and numbers, that is not to say that they are invincible, but I do believe they have the upper hand; I wouldn't worry about being overpowered by a poor, unorganized rebellion if I was one of them. Besides, they are cyborgs, we don't even know if they still have emotions -or for that matter, morale.
Just my opinion, though. Keep up the good work. :)
Hey, thanks for the feedback and thankyou :) I agree with you all the way that the Combine are just simply cyborgs and transhuman.
However, these guys would come handy as when squads come in to flank rebels, and half the squad is knocked out, the tactics will fail and they will just run anywhere, these Morale Brutes will be like "Get back in line and push!". Hope that makes sense LOL!
Thank you for your feedback, it will be taken on board :)
