Welcome to the Nuclear Races! NR is all about racing Redeemers or anyother weapons you wish. Players race through custom maps while avoiding eachother. You can choose to disable killing to allow players to race without blowing eachother up, or take the hard route and try to race without getting blown up! Some maps are filled with checkpoints which teleport the player to them once their Redeemer missle or other projectile touches it (unless of course they are riding the missle like with Strangelove.) Other maps are a more get to the end without crashing style and lack checkpoints. A typical race starts once enough players have stepped onto the starting line. The countdown starts when there are enough players ready (about half the current amount of players.) The countdown counts down from 10 and then the race begins! If the map has checkpoints, then players race arround hitting checkpoints until they reach the checkered flag. The checkered flag gives out points...
While Nuclear Races is not out yet, that does not mean that you cannot prepare maps for it.

While Nuclear Races is not out yet, that does not mean that you cannot prepare maps for it.
NR maps require special zones, so if you are not familiar with zoning a map, refer to this Unreal Wiki article.
Maps for Nuclear Races are different than anyother gametype. These maps need to be open for fast and frantic racing. Keep in mind, that NR will mostly be ran using Strangelove and/or RocketX, so it would be good to have room to fly in. These mods also have huge explosions that could easily clear a small hallway, so have plenty of big areas to make escaping these explosions much easier.
Maps should eventually loop back arround to the start, unless it is a very long map that will only run for one lap. (You will be able to specify how many laps you want to have by default.) Either way, there MUST be a quick way from the end back to the start. If all else fails, use a teleporter and/or a warp zone.
The first thing that a map needs is a starting area. This starting area should be a small zoned-in area that will be where players will wait while the countdown is going off. It should be very close to where players normally spawn.
Another important place is the checkered flag, which will be used to mark the end of the lap. While the flag itself is an Actor, it will be placed inside a special zone, just like the starting area.
Now that you have the start and finish, the map should contain checkpoints inbetween the two. Checkpoints are Actors that will be placed in their own special zone as well.
Those are the things that a map needs in order to run Nuclear Races. I will leave the rest up to you.

I shall build prototypes first for regular death matches and modify them accordingly :D
Works for me. Thanks for supporting Nuclear Races!
