Eventually these people retreated through the Rocky Mountains to the north, and small clans scattered across the vast open spaces beyond the mountains, where only small tribes of wandering orks lived. The Rocky Mountains became the northern border of the Kingdom, creating a formidable barrier against invading enemies from the North. Later on, Henry III, "The Wise", built a small fortress which guarded the only pass though the mountains, giving the enemy no chance of returning.
