Midnight Animal is a fan-made, full standalone mod of Hotline Miami, featuring brand new content including a completely new storyline, masks, characters, music, weapons, and levels. It takes place nearly thirty years after the events of Hotline Miami 2, and deals with the world reconstructed by Fifty Blessings following nuclear escalation. Officially approved by Dennis Wedin of Dennaton Games, Midnight Animal will be released through modDB, Steam, and itch.io, and will be released for PC, completely free of charge.
Awesome color balance going on here, how many new assets have you created?
A couple of hundred as of right now in terms of original sprites alone, along with hundreds more I've edited, retouched, or outright redone. In terms of objects and scripts, probably about 1500 lines of new code? Probably more, but I'm less concerned with the quantity of what I've added so much as with the quality.
I've noticed, the resolution of the game is 1200 x 768.
Try setting the room views to be W: 450 and H:255, then Port to screen W: 1366, and in the line 109 and 115 in the draw event of objEffector change it from 240 to 480, and that will make it look exactly like in the updated engine without those ugly black bars at the sides :P.
Yeah, most of the screenshots were taken within the original resolution of Hotline Miami, which was in 1200x768. I've since changed it to the much more manageable 1440x768, which has fortunately resolved the awful letterboxing. Thanks for the tip!
