Well, Euro Alliance is a bit of the turtling subfaction.

United States and Pacific Front aren't.

I assume such a wanted logic isn't going to be in the public versions of Ares?

The logic surely won't hit 0.2, but if there will be a 0.3, this will be in it alongside Bounty and other titbits Speeder asked me.

To continue Ares after 0.2, that's not my decision. Currently I'm willing to.

m666 Dec 4 2011, 8:46am replied:

I'd really love to use this. I have no idea if Ares 0.2 has even started back up despite the deadline being up. I can't be a tester due to a 3rd shift full time job eating all my time (and sanity/health) up. I'd love to use Bounty and this AttachEffect.

Of course, I also wonder how much can be done with this logic as well. But that's not really a public convo, now is it?

Ah okay. Sorry, I've been busy with the real world and missed a lot of stuff going on in the community. I'm having issues finding time to work on my own mod, let alone keep up with everything else.

Hm? Well, I can tell LH how I did this, but this isn't INI. And IIRC I mentioned the old plan of mine, but you had no effect on that. DCoder explained the way to code this ages ago, I just took the way and created it.

Inspirations were NPatch's Upgrade SW and Speeder's constant nagging.

Modding is just INI, but C++ is a more complicated thing to learn. It's programming after all.

Ares is just about that. An assembly shim to inject C++ code, which you can trigger with the additional INI tags.

Description

A sneak peek at the new logic Graion Dilach has been working on. The first unit to use it is the Thor Gunship.

The Thor has the authority to give units on the ground the order to assume a defensive stance. Affected units will have their speed decreased in favour of an armor boost.

The order expires after a while.
