It was named after the Space Wolves Primarch, Leman Russ. The main battle tank of the Imperial and the mainstary armored fighting vehicle of the Imperium, it is produced in massive numbers. Emphasizing heavy firepower and armor over mobility, it is rare for any Imperial Guard force to engage an enemy army without the support of Leman Russ tanks. The Leman Russ design has been in service for millennia, a testament to its simple but efficient and easily producible design.
