Its the same thing.
First in the war (when it wasnt used) it was named MP44 but then after Hitler saw it being tested by soldiers on the eastern front he took it and named it STG 44
Nono, it was given in september 1943 secretly to the troops with the code name MP43 becasue Hitler wouldn't fully automatic rifles. Than it was renamed to MP44 without technical changes. After Hitler saw that the troops had this rifle, and it was really effective, the official name were Sturmgewehr 44.

Not to mention Diplexheated is part of the team, an official moderator with a youtube channel which has amassed over 16,000,000 views due to his let's plays and other videos.
I think the main thing is simply having the mod installed and regularly playing it, in-time, with enough servers online at any given time, the player base should grow.
