remember that tanks were almost inexistent after World War 1, and using the Tanks+Airplanes+Infantry+Artillery at the same time "blitzkrieg" aka lightning war; that tactic was what it was. And don't forget that the german technology and strategy differed from the Old french generals point of view and armament.

Just omg , a big army yes , defeat in 2 weeks ? Are you kiding me ?

A little bit of history :
- France had the greatest army of the world in 1940 .
- France fought up to the end of 1940 in France and up to Africa in 1945 !

But france had the worst commandement ever in 1940 ...

I'd say the Soviets were the number one army due to it having the largest amount of troops in the world, it had very good tank tech, largest amount of tanks, largest amount of planes, but it only faltered on organization, which you may say isn't that big, when it actually is the biggest facter in having an army. You're army will not win if it's troops are all over the place.

in fact the French are beaten very little, in fact when Germany invaded Poland, the France declared war on them, but there was no fighting immediately. when hitler has aunched the assault, the French held about 2 weeks, then Marshal Petain has decided to collaborate with Germany and de Gaulle organized the French resistance to continue the fight. So much for the little history lesson. Vive la resistance!

Thanks all,

I think for once the French need a proper representation in an RTS WW2 game. They had, after all, the largest army in the world, circa 1940. Although the French Army command gifted the German Armed Forces a swift victory, the French Army in exile still functioned as a dominant national Army, fighting in many theatres of war despite the loss of their capital to the Germans.

There was some very heavy fighting in May 1940, tactically & strategically speaking, a very futurisitc war to fight at the time, given that Armour, Aircraft & Infantry had never been fully utilised in combined operations on such a scale before.

Hello Sturm,

Don't you think that the French legion could be also a nice addition for desert missions?
They heavely resist to Rommel at Bir Hakeim:

I know, I wrote that I had mis-spelt it on the other image. Im only happy to include the French - my only concern is players will be too powerful with them ;) As they will know not to disperse their armour support & concentrate their heavy tanks such as Char B1's which can easily knock out any German steel from that period.

It seems unbalanced to introduce the French, since they have overpowered units.

"POILU" ... Spelling mistake.

Apologies beta testers, Ive decided to include the French in the closed Beta instead of the Americans, for variety sake.
