Just complete fail... Shoulder straps for soviet soldier in 1942 ? Nonsense. Shoulder straps were introduced in Red Army only in 1943, until this all markings were on the collar. Now, for description - Red Army was nowhere near Smolensk in 1942. It was captured by Germans in 1941 and liberated only in 1943.
