Yep quite right, these are however the 6th Airborne Division, the 1st Airborne Divison who fought in 'Market Garden' will look exactly the same as the 6th who fought in Normandy.
You will see these guys in an Operation Market Garden Map.
Sturm, I love your work and think overall this model is fantastic. One historical note, British paras wore their wings on the right shoulder of the denison. Glider pilots wore their wings over the left breast pocket.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Yep your right, nothing is final though. The gaitors are going to be pale yellow, belt pale yellow, airborne wings on left arm, collar pale yellow, trousers changed to British Infantry version e.t.c
Go,go go! These boys are Ready For Anything! Great models once again Sturm. Maybe the bandoleer should have a bit more hang under it so it comes down more towards the waste. The new head is very realistic. How about making an affect where the pockets of all airborne/commando troops look like they have stuff inside them so they appear a bit bulky,a bit like the Screaming Eagle look? The Para helmet looks great too, just needs a thicker strap and that chin piece it had with it. Will you also make a few variations like a scarf with the smock and some with rolled up sleeves? I feel like I'm in a toy shop again choosing toy soldiers when I was a kid:))
I will try & do a rolled up sleeve version, although Im not sure how common that was as the smock is rather thick, so pushing the sleeves up the arms would be a bit incomfortable. Ill bulk up the tunic & do some minor altertions as posted above. I will also try & add a chinstrap as I was working from memory & not from an image to correct me.
looking good sturm, love the helmet and beret!
The headgear looks great, I was wondering if we can expect to see proper mk3 helmet models in this mod? the ones in vmow are just unacceptable.
wasent it the 1st airborne at market garden?
