Canton of Schwyz
High up from the peaks of the Alps and the valleys in the mountains a rural independent minded folk emerge from the states of the Holy Roman Empire. The Swiss Confederacy, also known as the Eidgenossenschaft, are a loose confederation of small states (known as cantons). Each state has its own rules and government but they have banded together in order to preserve their freedom and independence from their German feudal overlords. Currently, they are only one of many small states fighting against the Habsburgs but gradually they will become one of the most famous and efficient armies of the late middle ages and the renaissance. The Swiss pike and halberd blocks will strike fear in the hearts of any enemy foolish enough to invade their lands!

Thanks to Drakir on his help in research and roster structure, Ltd, YGW, Banskie, and Sly for the models, YGW, Drakir, and Velkan for the manuscripts, Banskie for his suggestions on revising the roster, and everyone else for their input on the roster!
As it stands, I am trying to gauge whether swordsmen for tier 2 should be included in the roster as a lending hand for the custom / multiplayer battle side of the mod. Let me know what you guys think!
Holy crap, they look amazing!
So from here on out, no new factions or revamps are going to have any late period sword infantry?
Unless there is evidence of it, no. Most of the time in Europe, the poleaxe was just a far more effective weapon against armour than the sword, but for like the purpose of the Schlachtschwerter, using swords was, from what I can find, to cut enemy pikes to aid the pike columns out in the case of a stalemate.
If you are talking about the tier 3 sword and shield infantry, I never found any use of sword units in history. I originally planned on having a tier 3 sword unit, but I have taken it out due to the feedback of the team.
