Greetings!
It's been a long while since this mod released, and months ago I promised to make an update focused on fixing most often issues and adding bit of extra content into the mod.
Let's take a look into it!
Achievements
With a bit of both coding and VScripting, as much as help from few others, I managed to add an achievement system. Credits go to alex_mmc for the sourcecode part and samisalreadytaken for their amusing work at making "accurate but not actual steam notifications" possible.
LaD currently has 21 achievements in total that you can spend hours hunting for.
Costumes
There were few instances when people asked to change the protagonist's appearance. So there you have it! Now you can unlock few outfits for protagonist after you complete certain achievements.
Challenge maps
After beating the main campaign, there's also 8 more short maps that you can try playing. Each map consists of some isolated environment from the main campaign, but you get a different objective, like surviving hordes of enemies for set amount of time, or maybe eliminating them in a limited time.
But aside from all these features, I also did a bunch of quality-of-life changes, I tweaked the game's balance in parts where players suffered the most, returned back the difficulty selection and added localization support. Aaaand many more small things.
I hope you're gonna enjoy playing the updated version and that it's not gonna be broken as hell! Make sure to leave your feedback below.
Ooh, time for me to do another run! Thanks Sellface!
Game?!? I thought this was a mod. Some of the Steam achievement text in your screenshot is misleading.
Also any chance you can recreate and improve the AI voice of the Black Mesa agent? I am not against AIG but I am all for quality when possible. Perhaps you can import the voices into ElevenLabs and recreate them from there. Their voice algorithm is stronger than the likes of 15.AI or Uber Duck, however it costs money to clone voices. If paying a subscription is a problem, I am willing to try my luck at re-cloning them myself. I have an active subscription.
I admire your willingness to keep stuff at maximum quality, but personally I guess making the goofy dialogues be voiced was a mistake at my end, some old habit originating from my past work.
Unfortunately I don’t feel like involving myself with this project again, although you’re free to do any changes yourself and submit them here as an addon.
In that case, I will see what I can do.
