Liberty Unleashed is an upcoming online multiplayer modification for Grand Theft Auto 3.
Its main goals are to provide players with a great multiplayer experience. Liberty Unleashed will do this by giving users pretty much anything that they want out of a GTA3 Multiplayer.
This includes:
Custom Vehicle Placements
Custom Object Placements
Custom Pickup Placements
Custom Spawn Points
A range of options to modify game related things (Such as time, Weather, Lights)
Server-side scripting giving a huge ammount of control over the game and players
Some more we're not yet saying ;)

Thought i'd drop a post on here to show that the mod is still alive :)
In the past 6 months, work on Liberty Unleashed has been pretty slow but it is still progressing.
Three main things have been happening since the last update, Firstly the mod now has another developer (aswell as myself), this should speed up the progress of the mod :)
Secondly, Liberty Unleashed now has its own unique GUI system (designed by me). This GUI system is completely flexible and will eventually be controllable via scripting. It has many options for how it looks and acts. For example, you can set the level of detail in the config (or in the console) and depending on your choice, fading in/out will be enabled/disabled aswell as the glassy toolbars etc. The GUI is also lightweight and doesn't hog resources to minimize lag.
On a third note, the LU core is being recoded from scratch to make it more flexible to work with aswell as adding vital optimisations to make sure it can run on any computer that can run GTA3.
The recode also allows us to add new things we couldn't add to the old core such as the GUI system aswell as client-side scripting.
While i'm on the topic of scripting, Me and the new developer are thinking of changing the scripting system that we will use in LU. The old scripting system was going to be LUA but we are now thinking of implimenting GameMonkey since its easier to impliment and we think its easier to work with since its C like. Only drawback with GameMonkey is that theres next to no documentation or tutorials for it. This means we will have to write up tutorials, or get some of the testers to do it :)
