Description
In an effort to keep bringing original art to the mod, here is a look at Manwë's new portraiture!
i always imagined that Manwe would have a beard: i also imagined that almost all of the male Valar, including Melkor and Eru, would have beards too. it seems i am the only one who thinks that, considering the overwhelming majority of fan-art does not depict anything close to this.
a shame, really, that my vision for the Silmarillion can never exist (i got music and writing talent; absolutely zero as far as painting or 3D models)
I imagine most of the Valar to be clean shaven to be closer in image to the Elves. Then there are Valar like Ulmo who is stated to have ever rarely taken a perceivable earthly form. I imagine Ulmo to have a a physical form that matches water, with a watery beard to go with. Beard-dom appears to be a characteristic of "wisdom" to Tolkien, so perhaps more Valar having beards isn't terribly far-fetched.
