The year is 2030; 3 years after 4 of the world's most powerful volcanoes exploded and released over 5 Mega tones of ash in the atmosphere. Earth's average temperature dropped below -20 degrees Celsius, due to the ash limiting the sun's exposure to around 10%, thus creating a severe and harsh ice age over the whole planet, leaving lots of people under the snow, and trapped in their basements. The last place on earth that still is warm enough for human existence is now the equator...

good mapping here, i like the atmosphere very much :)
only 2 things seem a bit off: the brick-decal and the wooden pier on the right side.
the pier maybe needs a bit debris/concrete around it and the decal takes too much attention/doesn't fit in there, cause of it's bright colours and high placement ;)
