While the ARC-170 was the basis for the X-wing the ARC-170 is still much more heavily armed with its two forward mounted medium cannons two rear mounted cannons proton torpedo launcher and it had jamming equipment as well. It also had deflector shields and could reach up to supersonic speeds and had a class 1.5 hyper driver its main plus was that it could function as a heavy fighter or a bomber.

X-Wing has all the same features only it has four light lasers instead of 2 mediums and 2 light. The ARC-170 was three-manned this is one-manned and out classes the ARC-170 in all areas except firepower.

It's better than the ARC-170 in that it has Chaif, sensor systems, targeting systems, can use photon OR concussion missiles equaling the ARC amout of 6 warheads, only one manned, 1,100g faster at max, 1.0 is better hyperdrive than 1.5.

The X-Wing is a improvement. I wouldn't say the X-Wing would push the ARC-170 out of service but it would end up being phased out to private fleets in the 20 years since the Clone Wars.

Well the ARC-170 is more in the area of a gunship I would say the X-Wings speed and hyperspace capability are really its two main advantages. As unlike a ARC-170 if a enemy gets behind a X-wing the only thing they can do is outrun them but with the ARC-170 you have the turrets in back to provide support. One thing that erks me is how the empire could stop using the LATT gunship that thing was very powerful its speed was among the fastest land to air ships out there and its armament is crazy powerful for a troop transport.

All i have to say is

ARC-170 - Three pilots, one flies, one shoots forward weapons and hperspace, one fires rear lasers

X-Wing - One pilot to do everything but hyperspace.

Since the X-Wing was supposed to be the empire's version of the ARC-170 and Z-95 i figured the X-Wing could still have been built as their replacement if the Republic still existed.

These will act as the Space Superiority Fighter for the Republic.

4 Light Lasercannons
1 Warhead Launcher (Swap between anti-ship ans anti-fighter ordinance)
