Sequel to Knights of the Old Empire 1 - Awakening. Twenty years into the alternate future you see the Republic and Jedi in a time of change where Unity and Democracy are two different things. Family or Tradition are tested as many more youngling are given to the Knights for training and many padawan, jedi knights and even masters are leaving the Jedi for the Sith Knights. The Knight's have formed a federation of systems known as the United Systems that seeks galactic security and freedom. The republic is crumbling under the better life promised and given by the Sith Knights and the Unity. But that all is about to change with one unprovoked and dastardly attack on Revan City on Korriban.
Decided to make the Unity have a few series of ships to work with as kinda a specialization system.
Example:
-Sith-style ships feature a large figher/bomber screen as well as a large or fast laser array and usually lacking any Ion Cannons or missiles.
-Mon Calamari ships have excellent armor and shields while suffering slow speeds and lighter weapons. But also have a few Ion Cannons on most ships.
-Mandalorian ships have weaker shealds and very limited figher/bomber screens but feature higher firepower in specialized support ships.

Exactly, and I think it should be The Empire who has the most powerful armaments...
This is just the plan for the Unity. The Republic will have more of a focus on fighters and mixed armament.

The Mandalorian ships also have great armor but much weaker shields compared to the Sith and Kuati ships. Most of the Mandalorian ships in the mod have speacial weapons and are not meant to be taking damage for long. The exception to this will be their capital ships
