JA2 1.13 Mod (Named as such because it's an unofficial upgrade to JA2 GOLD version 1.12) is an enhancement to the game engine for Jagged Alliance 2. It's a community project and has been in an Open Beta phase since June of 2005, with new updates being released regularly through our public SVN. We also have official releases that are downloadable Install packages every few months (Which will be posted here as they become available). Key features can be read by going to the homepage or the wiki, but here is a rundown: The AI has been vastly improved, and a new difficulty level, INSANE, was added. Enemies will now lay down suppression fire to make your mercs drop to the floor and waste AP's. They'll flank you, and they will set up sniping positions complete with spotters and they'll even climb on the roof tops to come after you. So much data has been externalized, it's hard to keep track of it all. Just about everything dealing with items has been externalized,...

The newest release version of the 1.13 MOD for Jagged Alliance 2 is now available for download. This version comes complete with the Map Editor re-enabled, several more options in the INI files, and a TON of bugfixes!

Short and sweet, here's the revision history for this upgrade from 502:

NEW:
- Added INI Setting and ability to manually train mobile militia at a cost (MILITIA_COST_MODIFIER, MUST_TRAIN_MOBILE_MILITIA)
- Added INI setting and ability to train veteran militia (TRAIN_VETERAN_MILITIA)
- added Captain J's coverage armor mod (see ENABLE_ARMOR_COVERAGE in Ja2_Options.INI)
- Added multiple costs for training militia (REGULAR_COST_MODIFIER, VETERAN_COST_MODIFIER)
- Added Gameday delays for having mobile militia available, and for being able to train veteran militia. (TRAIN_VETERAN_MILITIA_DELAY, ALLOW_MILITIA_MOBILE_DELAY)
- added MAX_IMP_CHARACTERS entry in the ja2_options.ini (Range: 0 - 6) Voices already chosen are no longer selectable.
- Now it is possible to load an I.M.P. character even if it has multiple blanks (spaces) in the nickname. E.g.: "Mr D 2", "Jack 1", ...
- Re-enabled auto save (located in options screen)
- German.Items.xml can now use "Umlaute". It is now correct displayed in the game
- Lightning can be disabled while rain is still enabled (ALLOW_LIGHTNING in ja2_options.ini)
- Movement costs between sectors has been externalized (TableData\Map\MovementCosts.xml)
- added sector variation (see "TableData\Map\AltSectors.xml")
- New 1.13 compatible Map editor is now available, with support for up to 255 tilesets, and full support of the xml files.

Changes:
- moved Random personality flag from INI to option screen
- Updated the new soldier tooltip code
- If an IMP is cloned (90210, nickname) an unused voice is set. So we have correct data.
- Migrated some of the XML files to subfolders.
- Cities.xml is now more (fully?) functional.

Fixes:
- bugfix: CTD when bullets hit door
- bugfix: Gas mask was always worn in low-level tooltips
- bugfix: New drop item system (XML Drop system)
- bugfix: Not all Face-Items (Goggles, NVGs, ...) are dropped, when "Drop all items" is selected
- bugfix: Jeep & Eldorado have the same animation like the Hummer
- bugfix: Getting incorrect data & CTDs when using multiple IMP characters with same voices. Now it is possible to have up to 6 merc with the same voice without getting incorrect data. No more need to use different voices! (IF YOU PLAY WITH MULTIPLE IMPS, YOU SHOULD START A NEW GAME, BECAUSE THE IMP CHARACTERS GAME DATA IS INCORRECT AND CAUSES CTDs!)
- bugfix: CTD when using Random personality in I.M.P creation
- bugfix: allow women to be in regular army and administrators
- bugfix: CTD bug when stealing (thx to Brent Johnson aka Nonomori)
- bugfix: when camouflage has worn off for one merc, it was said that every merc camouflage has worn off (including vehicles)
- bugfix (from build 529): IMPs have wrong voices
- bugfix: Multiple IMPs with same voice causes wrong data and CTDs. Now it is impossible to have multiple IMPs with the same voice. No more invalid IMP data with multiple imps (hopefully)
- bugfix: Enemies do not wear NVGs at night.
- bugfix (from build 529): IMPs have wrong voices
- bugfix: Multiple IMPs with same voice causes wrong data and CTDs. Now it is impossible to have multiple IMPs with the same voice. No more invalid IMP data with multiple imps (hopefully)
- bugfix: CTD in German version when using auto fire (missing german strings)
- bugfix: Wrong chance to hit calculation on RPG rocket launchers
- fixed some spelling mistakes in German and English version
- bugfix: EXPERIENCED_ELITE_BONUS = 0 will now handle garrisons the way they were originally handled for Experienced Difficulty. Setting it to anything other than 0 will handle garrisons the way Expert/Insane Garrisons are handled, and add that percentage of elites to new garrisons.
- bugfix: When loading an I.M.P character by nickname or 90210 the voice was not set correct.
- bugfix: CtH calculation (shows up nearly 0% next to an enemy), when merc spots an enemy after climbing up/down a rooftop
- bugfix: Added Pulmu's weight calculation fix
- bugfix: Removed the serious bug that was added in exe build 568
- bugfix: CTD when loading a savegame after an auto save was loaded -> Autosave works now ;-)
- bugfix: CTD on maps with tanks
- bugfix: Average column in laptop->profiles was not correct calculated
- intense save/reload fix #1: error checking was added, when the game is saving/loading temp files. This fix protects against corruption of saves, that can occur in temp files section. However, this fix may annoy you by error message-boxes. If you get one, try to reload, re-save your game next X times. If it won't help, your way is to forum.
- fixed: Spelling mistake (GAME_PROGRESS_MIKE_AVALIABLE, GAME_PROGRESS_IGGY_AVALIABLE) in Source code and INI files
