It Came From Red alert! is a mod that brings the original Command & Conquer: Red Alert into Red alert 2: Yuri's Revenge. All versions require Red alert 2: Yuri's Revenge V1.001. The current, and likely final, version is Pre-release Candidate 1 (PRC1) which does not require any additional community patches. The mod originally started as a coding-only mod so that I could play something resembling Red Alert with the newer interface features like right click scrolling and turned into something way beyond that. It's been consistently popular since the first version was released with a steady trickle of views and downloads even to this day. Thank you all for the kind comments the mod has received over the years and I'm sorry I never managed to finish it, especially as it got so close to being totally done.

I had my last university exam 4 days ago so have started to make some progress on R3 again, mainly coding wise.

The change list has been updated with:

Tanya sequence fix.
Mapping support.
M.A.D. Tank deploy animation.
Cannot build from Tech Buildings.
Spy Plane, V2 Rocket and Missile Sub Missile are not legitimate targets.
Slightly different terrain colour.

And perhaps more importantly:

Anti-Air and Ground-to-Air weapons now have pythagoras calculated ranges instead of guess work.

Which in turn has resulted in:

Helicopter behavior fix.

Longbows are back in action properly, so getting some AA around your Ore Trucks is going to be important in R3.

My to do list now only has one rules coding item, AI coding (oh dear..) and the rest of the items are graphical (buildups, animations, terrain, sidebars, etc). I'm putting these off until I have my new computer running (the parts should arrive tomorrow, plus a few days of going "oooh" and "ahhh" at running games in high settings) as it'll cut down on the animation making and rendering time.

The more observent of you will have noticed "Mapping Support" in the new change list additions, I've covered what I mean by this here.

Oh, and I've made the site alot easier to read by changing the layout to use the whole screen instead of a tiny strip down the centre. Mmm, rendered Red alert logo!
