I represent to Your attention my mod "under the sun". mod on the engine goldsrc (opfor). In the story the liberal government is betraying the country and giving it under the control of the United States and its allies. on the game character enters the ranks of the militia, fighting against the occupier and carry out other tasks. in fashion more than 20 maps. the gameplay is about 2 hours, if the player knows exactly what to do. the mod ends with two alternative endings, one of which will be continued. there are small quest elements.

Really great, but underrated mod for Opposing Force.
I'll admit, going in I didn't expect much as the Moddb page is a mess. But am I glad i checked it out.
The graphics are quite nice, especially the texturework. All the textures are pretty high res and fit quite well.
The gameplay is so-so. I'll be frank, the mod is unfairly difficult, even with the patch that makes it easier. The health kits are way too rare and the enemies way too common, plus they almost all hitscan you.
The story is... a thing? I don't speak Russian, so most of it went over my head, but i think the US invaded Russia? Kinda like Reverse Homefront then? Well, whatever the case, we start out on just a normal day for our unnamed protagonist, where he goes out and gets a permit for his shotgun (minus the few hours wait time) and gets the weapon itself. Now any normal person would test it out on the range, or go hunting maybe, but he goes Postal on some gopniks. I'm sure they deserved it, don't worry. Anyway the Us soldiers invade and immediately start shooting civies (+1 for authenticity) and out adventure begins.
The enviroments: honestly, this is the reason i gave the mod such a good rating. The city we visit 3-4 times in the mod feels real, it has a pharmacy, a police station, a brewery etc. The forest areas are boged down by the engine and don't look as good as they could, the factories, warehouses, train stations and sewers look bog standard, but the real star of the show are the railroad track and military research base midway through the mod. The track and the nearby enviroment look stunning (as stunning as they can on goldsrc) and the base is just mapped so well that it's a joy to explore. Plus these areas are free of the annoying enemies so they are less annoying.
All in all i'd say this is quite worth the bandwith and your time as well, give it a spin and you probably wont be dissapointed.
