Advanced mod: Revived is a Home World 2 modification that specializes in taking the 2 existing races and expanding upon them. The idea, is to add in multiple different new ships, re-arm every ship in the game, and specialize each ship with a blended, but still clear role. By giving the player more options, and doing it in a professionalized manner the mod "advances" the gameplay of Homeworld 2 into something different, something more fun, and yet still tactically fulfilling.
Be gentle everyone, I know its not great, but I lack a good photo editing program, and also am not very skilled. Other than the quality, I personally like it.
Me too
Black and White feel classic for HW series (they always use Black/White movie). So, I think it's ok.
However, it would express more natural feeling if you could make the text blend with the background (currently it's like another object, which seems off somehow).
What image editing program do you use?
Rofl, I use what I have available without spending money or pirating as far as I know, and that's: Paint and Irfanview.
As for the text, that's kinda the idea. I wanted the name to stand out some. I think I overdid the shadow difference a little, but I was shooting for it to stand out some.
Gimp is free as far as i know (May have changed by now) and offers a good few options that paint doesn't, sort of like a photoshop lite.
Actually I am now taking classes based in "Simulation and Game Design" at my local college, so I actually have registered copies of multiple modeling/picture/programming applications.
Even though this has slowed down my production of Advanced Mod, it means I will be able to make far higher quality works for non-profit productions. (aka mods/school work)
