An orange, the horror. Just trying to improve my texturing and uvmapping skills. I really lack in that department so I need to improve, I'll also add the orange into the mod as a food item.
The UV on that orange is definitely good. =o
And also, take a look at the unit portraits in SC2. They have some pretty insane UV Mapping.
I did a spherical uvmap with the orange, never did that before. Watched a video on YouTube showing how to, games with high poly models have crazy uvmaps due to the way the textures are laid out.
The unit portraits in star craft are awesome by the way.
Despite the models having a kind of high poly count, the actual SC2 Marine model only has about 50,000. Compared to the model used to render the SC1 Marine, which had about 3 million.
Sweet Jesus that's alot of poly, 50 thousand seems like nothing to 3 million. God knows how much poly the models used in movies have.
