well not all of the obstructions should be burning crates. Cars, tires, furniture exc will all be good and give a sense of people panicking during the beginning of the outbreak and rioting/looting. Police, Riot, & other emergency vehicles would also make the scene look more legit.

Well I know what you mean as I just said fire and crates but there's more than that, sorry if I made you think wrong. There are also cars (Modern Scene Props OSP, I can't make cars myself) in the way, sandbags, gastanks etc.

I extended the wall around the map a little more but I will probably extend it again to over the entire backparts of the map. I will make some traditional wooden japanese houses to go along that green area to fill that part up.

One thing I really like about modding is that all the models, textures and stuff that I make can also be used for anything else I plan to do in the future. Examples: the buildings could be use for a different mod for another game, I modelled an ashtray and that can be used universally as it's frequently used in real life.

Description

This image (Aerial View) will show you what areas I have planned for the player to roam around in. I hope this gives you a certain feel for where you can run about as the areas you aren't meant to go will be blocked off by fire and crates to obstruct the passage.

If any of you are wondering, yes I did do this in paint.
